Losing Sleep, but…Tree Removal?

Sometimes, very occasionally, I’m okay with losing sleep. Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE sleep. Sleep is to me what water is to a fish; can’t live without it, and I mean more so than the average human. Still, there are times when I’ll go without, few and far between as they may be. One of them is movie marathons, perhaps the most prominent of the bunch. I’ll stay up all night watching movies, because they’re one of the few things I love more than sleep. And then I’ll pull the occasional all-nighter for uni. Got to get those essays done!

But I turn into an absolute bear when I’m disturbed during the night; we’re talking ‘polar bear who’s just been punched in the face and told that his mother was a teddy bear’ type angry. And yeah, I know there are tree removal guys in Melbourne, they do their jobs and it’s not like they can choose when they work. The tree lopping big boss says go, they say ‘right away’, and that’s the way it has to be because tradespeople all get up really early for some reason. Why is that, anyway? Why can’t builders and all that lot just get up at a normal time like normal, civilised people? If I ever own my own building company, I’m going to make sure we start at nine, because WHY NOT?

Anyway, our uni dorms are pretty near a bit of woodland that the council has decided needs to go. It’s a miniature forest, so that part is taking a while. And wow…those tree lopping people start early. Super early. Can’t tell you exactly how early because I’m usually not up before 11, but it’s got to be…early. Like, definitely before 10am, probably earlier.

Maybe that’s it: I need to start my own Melbourne tree felling company, and institute a mandatory policy of starting late morning. Everyone will want to work for me. Sleep is just…too important.
