Space Conflicts, Play Centre Conflicts

Oh boy, everyone’s in a tizzy. Personally I’m not into the ‘Space Conflicts’ series. Saw a few of them when I was dating a guy who was into them, but they never really caught on with me.

Now every single mum in my mum’s group is involved in this ongoing debate about ‘The Penultimate Space Wizard’, and whether it’s the greatest film ever created or a cinematic stain, to be wiped from existence.

I can’t participate, because I haven’t seen it and I have no plans to do so. So…guess I’m looking after the kids? We’ve started going to this indoor play centre in Bundoora, I think? Lacey always picks us up, and Lacey talks like a machine gun so I can’t really focus on the exact address. Anyway, it’s good for letting the kids run wild and have fun in the play area while we get to relax with a coffee. Or…that’s the idea. Right now, I’m far more keen on keeping an eye on the kids. Some of those pieces of play equipment take them pretty high up, and those balls pits can be…hmm. Okay, it’s fine. They look safe, and they have to go through all kinds of regulations (Diana made sure to ask. She’s going to end up projecting her hypochondria onto her kids). No, I’m really just feeling totally out of the loop, and I need SOMETHING to do. I know the rest of the group wouldn’t usually be this exclusive, but whatever happens in this new movie, it’s split them right down the middle. I thought Kaylee was about to jump on Brenda and start strangling her at one point, all for suggesting that one character’s arc was superfluous to the plot.

I’ll just make sure the kids are safe. Which they usually are. Golly, this place would be nice for a highly rated kids birthday party venue in Carrum Downs. And does anyone need their mugs returned to the counter? Maybe the ball pit needs colour coordinating. What year was that play equipment made? I should take a look.

I just REALLY need something to do while they’re all arguing.
