Cruising for Clubs

Man, so many clubs around at the moment. And if clubs aren’t your thing and you’d like something a bit more involved, then there are loads of societies, for the true connoisseurs.

Personally, I’m torn between the one that lets you live on the moon, and the one that promises a glorious colony on the sun. I mean, I do like sunny weather, but the moon is just so peaceful. Like, a really nice way to just get away from things. Gee, decisions, decisions…and I’m not usually a decisive person, so this is really going to boggle my noggin. However, I should note that I’m constantly shocked by how much electricity I’m using. The air conditioning services in Melbourne are pretty good, but they’re not magical, you know? They can’t just cost nothing, because sucking in hot air and turning it into cool air is always going to be a costly procedure. So if I go and live on the sun, as nice as it’ll be during the day, we’re looking at a whole lot of hot nights, and I’m not very good at sleeping during those summer nights with all the cloying humidity. I’m sure they have a decent contingency plan for keeping things cool, but the energy bills for all that air conditioning are going to be rather high.

That just leaves me with the moon society, although I’m hoping they’ve done their research because the moon actually gets quite hot at night. Well…lunar night. No ozone layer to protect it, so it gets the full blast of the sun. Ooh, maybe I can be their science adviser! I know ALL about air conditioning repair stuff, because of all my research, and I love learning about space. I just hope they don’t already have science people. I hear it’s pretty exclusive, unlike the knitting club, which so far as I knew just accepts everyone.
