Is it legal to NOT have a will? I guess that’d be one of the things that would be difficult to prosecute. Someone dies, they haven’t stated what to do with all their stuff in a last will and testament, and there’s not much you can do about it. Finding their next-of-kin would be a bit of a jerk move in their time of grief.
Alright, so maybe it’s just professional courtesy to make a will to set everything straight, instead of it being a legal requirement. Which means…I need to get onto this as soon as possible. Dying right now and leaving my family to come and sort through all of my junk must be the biggest pain in the neck, especially since I haven’t specified who gets what. Everyone just has to guess, and there WOULD be fights. That’s why you need an attorney in Melbourne to make a will and testament, and preferably have them present while all this is going on.
I’ve seen it on TV. There’s always the one guy, everyone is gathered in a room, tensions are high because nobody knows who’s getting the Mercedes and who gets the villa in France, and sometimes there’s some sort of punch-up while their prissy high-class wives cheer them on. And then the attorney needs to step in and stop them, and honestly, I don’t think that should be their job. They have a lot on their plate, all these people dying, and they can’t be getting their hands dirty with breaking up fistfights.
But who gets what? Man, this is just like inviting people to my third wedding and trying to please everyone with the catering. Somebody will be left out, a LOT more people are just going to get invited as a formality even though I don’t want them there, and there’s always that ONE who’s allergic to fish. Always one.
Need to get it done though. Put my nose to the ground, sniff out an attorney for making a will in Melbourne. With all the delegation that’s involved in the job, I’ll be needing a really good one.
